Kachumber Salad - Vegetable Salad (Cucumber Tomato Onion Salad)

Kachumber is an Indian Salad Recipe made with basically fresh Cucumber, Onion & tomato spiced with crushed Pepper Corns & Garnished with Indian herb Coriander leaves. I have added Capsicum & Carrot for Additional Nutrition. This Veggie bowl can be made raw without using flame, In busy time we don't find time to include healthy veggies to our meal, so if you include this salad to your daily meal it provides sufficient Nutrition to the body.This Salad can be served as an accomapaniment to the meal, or can be eaten Seperately.

Onion - 1.
Tomato - 1.
Cucumber - 2 to 3.
Carrot - 1.
Capsicum - 1/4 (Medium Size)
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp.
Pepper Corns -1/4 tsp(crushed)
Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp.
Green Chilly - 1.
Salt - As needed.

  • Peel the cucumber.
  • Chop Onion,tomato,Cucumber,Capsicum,Coriander leaves & Green Chilly.
  • Grate the Carrot.
  • Crush the Pepper to powder using mortar & pestle or mixie.


  • Take a Mixing bowl, add the vegetables,Green chilly,freshly crushed Pepper corns,Salt & Lemon Juice.Mix well.
  • Garnish with finely Chopped fresh Coriander leaves.

  • Serve the salad Immediately.
  • Adding freshly crushed Pepper Corns gives nice flavour to salad,instead you can use Pepper Powder also.
  • you can also add 4 - 5 chopped Mint leaves.
  • you can add 1/4 tsp of Cumin Powder for additional flavour.
