Easy Mushroom Gravy - Mushroom Gravy

Mushroom Gravy is a simple and Easy recipe made with mushrooms & spice powders. Goes well with chapathi's,roti's and also stuffing inside dosa's.This Gravy is Mushrooms in tomato sauce.One dietary analysis found that mushroom consumption was associated with better diet quality and improved nutrition. The health benefits of mushrooms include relief from high cholesterol levels, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and diabetes. It also helps in weight loss, and increases the strength of your immune system.

Ingredients

Button mushroom - 200 gms.
onions - 2.
tomato -3.
chilli powder - 1 tsp.
turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp.
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp.
salt - as needed.
fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp.
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp.
oil - to fry.

Preparation

clean the mushrooms  and cut it into big pieces.(soak the mushrooms in water, for 3 - 4 minutes, then rub the dirt, thin skin in it  will come out, then remove the stem part of mushroom).Then keep it aside.

 Method

  • Heat the oil, add fennel seeds, when it splutters, add onions, add ginger garlic paste saute till onions turns translucent.
 
  • Then add tomatoes, add chilli powder and turmeric powder. saute till tomatoes turns mushy.
  • Then add mushrooms saute for 4 - 5 minutes.
 
  • Then add 1 cup of water.When water starts boiling add Garam masala and salt.
  • Cook till mushrooms are soft and it comes in the form of Gravy consistency.
 
  • Garnish with cilantro.
  • Serve with chapathi,roti and mild pulao's.
