DRUMSTICK LEAVES DAL - MUNAGAKU PAPPU

Drumstick Leaves Dal is a Healthy dal Recipe made with Toor dal & Drumstick Leaves. Drumstick Leaves are fully packed with vitamins & minerals. It is Very Good in Antioxidant.

Ingredients


Drumstick Leaves - 1 cup(Tightly packed).
Toor dal - 1/2 cup.
Onion - 1.
Tomato - 1.
Garlic - 4.
Ginger - 1/2 inch.
Green chilly - 2.
Red chilly -1.
Chilli Powder - 3/4  tsp.
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp.
hing - a Generous pinch.

Preparation
  • Clean the drumstick leaves & Wash it.
  • Chop onion,tomato,Garlic,Green chilli,Ginger.

Method


1. To toor dal, add turmeric & cook with needed water, till it turns mushy in a cooker.

2. Heat the oil, add mustard seeds.When it splutters add cumin seeds.

3. When it sizzles, add Red chilly,Green chilly,Garlic,Ginger.




4. Saute till Garlic turns Golden Brown. Add Onion.

5. Saute till onions turns Pink.

6.  Add Fresh Drumstick leaves saute for 2 minutes.
 


7.Then add tomato. Saute tomato till it turns slightly mushy.



8.Then add a cup of water.  Then add chilli powder,turmeric powder  & salt.



9. When drumstick leaves turns soft,  add cooked toor dal. Let it boil for few minutes.(Adjust water).




10. Cook till it gets dal consistency. 


Notes
  • you can replace onion with Pearl onion. 
  • Always use tender leaves for best Results.
