Ginger - 2 " inch.
oil - to fry.
chanadal - 1 tbsp.
urad dal - 1 tbsp.
tamarind - small goosebery size.
Red chillies - 5.
fenugreek seeds - 5.
jaggery - 1 tsp.
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
curry leaves - 1 sprig.
hing - Generous pinch.
cut the ginger into small pieces.
- Heat 1 tsp of oil, add chandal,urad dal, red chillies, fenugreek seeds saute everything together, till dals turns golden brown colour, then remove it from kadai and keep it aside.
- In same kadai, add Ginger and tamarind , saute till ginger turns golden brown colour and it shrinks.
- Then add everything in a blender and grind it into a smooth paste with little water, 1 tsp of jaggery and salt.
- Heat the oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters add curryleaves and hing, saute for few seconds and pour it over chutney as tadka.
