Onion Kara Chutney - Ullipaya Mirigam - Vengaya kara chutney

Onions are good sources of several vitamins, and in particular vitamin A, vitamin C Vitamin E. All three of these vitamins are necessary for standard bodily processes, and Vitamin C in particular can help to boost your immune system. This is one of the many reasons why onions have been used in medical procedures and to promote general good health for thousands of years.Folic acid is helpful in regulating certain other systems in your body. It is typically found in different types of fruits, but onions are unique in that they contain a hefty amount of folic acid and they are a vegetable. In order to mix up your intake of produce but still get your recommended dosage of this nutrient, consider using onions.Now We prepare a Delicious Kara chutney Using Onions.

Onion -2 [Chopped]                                    
Red chillies - 4
Salt -as required.
Roasted Chana Dal - 25. [3/4 tsp]
Tamarind - Small piece [Small goosebery Size]
jaggery - 1/4 tsp.
oil - to fry.
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp.

  • Chopped Onions, Red chillies,salt, Roasted chana dal, Tamarind,jaggery into a fine paste with needed water.
  • Heat the oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add this ground paste.
  • Saute well for 15 to 20 minutes until the raw smell goes and it gets the form as shown in the above picture.
  • It goes Very well with Dosa and Idli's.you can also refrigerate for a week.
