Potato Masala poriyal - Aloo Masala Curry- urulaikizhangu masala poriyal

Potato Masala curry is a  simple curry recipe made with potatoes and some spices.This is an authentic Recipe, goes well with rice, roti, and chapathi's and even with dosa's.

Potatoes - 2.[ Medium size].
Onion -1 [ medium size].
oil - to fry.
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
chana dal - 1/2 tsp.
urad dal - 1/2 tsp.
oil - to fry.

To Grind
coconut - 2 tbsp.
corinader seeds - 2 tsp.
Red chillies - 3.
turmeric - 3 pinch.
Roasted chana dal - 1 tbsp.
salt - as required.

  • Boil the potatoes, remove the skin and crumble it into tiny pieces.
  • Grind the items in grind column with needed water into fine paste.
  • Heat the oil,add mustard seeds,when it splutters add chanadal,urad dal, saute  till dal's turns golden brown,  add onion.
  •  When onions turns pink, add ground paste.
  • stir for 2 minutes, when ground paste starts boiling add crumbled potatoes. 
  • Saute for 10 to 15 minutes with medium flame till everything combines well.
  • Now switch off the flame.It goes very well with rice,roti,and chapati's.
